Just before you sleep tonight, A simple lesson ..When your pastor gives you a cautionary prediction, don’t form braggadocio ,ask for help ..Luke 22:31-32 KJV[31] And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32] But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.You don’t hear this from a trusted voice and reply in lack of wisdom .Luke 22:33 KJV[33] And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.Who was he trying to brag at ?Whilst you mustn’t pay attention to voices untested and unproven ,however when Gods man over you gives such warning ,you seek for counsel .All Jesus said happened ,even though preventable .Peter had earlier shown signs of deviating and opposing him Matthew 16:22-23 KJV[22] Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. [23] But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.He acted as an adversary.Rather than taking instructions Matthew 16:24 KJV[24] Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.Judas has similar warnings and never needed them .Gods warnings aren’t threats ,they are oftentimes cautionary.Why then do we move from acting like children to behaving like independents ?Familiarity .Dishonor .Wrong Associations.Strange desires .We must keep esteeming men and women whom God placed over us and take heed to their words .1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 KJV[12] And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;[13] And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.Otherwise, we are unruly .Hebrews 13:17 KJV[17] Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.They watch over your souls, ,entire life ,including all your decisions .Paul instructs Timothy to heed to utterances ,which oftentimes includes cautionary statements..1 Timothy 1:18 KJV[18] This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;So next time pastor says ,” watch your associations,...,you have been going too often to movies these days ..,it appears your appearance has changed ,you seem to dress differently these days ,....you aren’t as passionate about prayer like before ..Don’t try to disprove him To obey is better than quoting scriptures.Heed !Lord grant you understandingJanuary 21,2019#chrissegunonayinka#saintscommunitychurch ...
